Read-A-Thon

Henry does an annual fall Read-A-Thon to promote reading and to raise money for the school.

Reading Period Begins: October 11, 2017
Reading Period Ends: October 22 2017
Fundraising Ends: November 3, 2017

We hope that all students will challenge themselves to read at least 500 minutes – that’s about 40 minutes a day. Each student who makes the 500-minute goal will be recognized as a proud member of the Patrick Henry Reading Fleet! They get entered into a raffle for great prizes donated by our community and help to earn a schoolwide reading celebration.

The Read-A-Thon is also a great fundraiser for our school. We ask students to raise support in the form of pledges. To make fundraiser easier, we are using the website PledgeStar.

Students earn prizes for fundraising at the $25, $50, $75, $100, $200, $300, $400, and $500 levels.

Middle School Boundary Changes   Recently updated !

With a new middle school opening in 2019 in North Arlington, all middle school boundaries will be changing.  Thomas Jefferson boundaries will be changing.

Here is  a link to the proposed changes https://www.apsva.us/engage/middle-school-boundary-change/maps/

Starting tomorrow, the PTA will have 3 stations with laptops that Henry will loan us. One station will be at the K-1 blacktop, one at the big kid blacktop and one station inside the school lobby by the office, as well as maps to view in person.

On the laptops we will have the link to this survey and ask families to give their feedback to APS. https://survey.k12insight.com/r/kYcEyB
