For those who may be new to Arlington’s process, Virginia law requires all candidates for School Board to qualify for the ballot as Independent candidates, although they may be supported or endorsed by a political party.  The Arlington County Democratic Committee (ACDC) will hold a caucus vote to endorse a candidate for School Board on May 9, 11, and 13th.  While the caucus winner may face opposition in the November 2017 general election, no non-Democrat has served on the Board since 2007, so the candidate endorsed by the caucus is highly likely to carry the general election.   More information about upcoming Arlington elections can be found here: https://vote.arlingtonva.us/elections/
We all have busy lives, so please take advantage of this all-in-one opportunity to compare and contrast the School Board candidates’ views.
Tonight’s debate is jointly sponsored by the Pike Presidents’ Group and the Patrick Henry Elementary PTA – we hope to see you there!
